During the visitor experience, discover what life was like in rural Ireland back in the late 1880s while learning the history of Clonakilty Blackpudding and how it has evolved through the ages. Experience Clonakilty in the 1980s, and how the Twomey family story started. Get right into the heart of an Irish food story that is filled with a strong sense of family, tradition and Clonakilty pride.

Tours can be booked on every half hour from 9.30am until 3.30pm
If you arrive late, we will do our best to offer you a place in the next available time slot, there are only a limited number of headsets so this dictates our numbers.
We are open all year round, and are closed only from December Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Stephen’s Day every year. (Bank holidays etc.?)

Yes, we run autism friendly hours twice a week. The same Clonakilty visitor centre experience while allowing both adults and children with autism to enjoy their visit without any additional stress. – days and times
No, you do not need to book in advance as we do accept walk ins. However, to avoid disappointment we would strongly recommend that you book your ticket in advance online particularly during the summer months which can be busy.
The price includes a fully self-guided tour of the centre with individual headsets, where you will discover the history of Blackpudding, Clonakility in the 1880’s and much more. You will also experience some enjoyable interactive elements along the way! At the end of the tour each person will be treated to a delicious selection of Clonakilty product to taste.
Yes, our centre includes a viewing hall over our production area, so you will get to see how Clonakilty Blackpudding is produced! However, due to working hours, production finishes at 1-2pm and there is no production on Sundays. It is advised to book within this time frame if you wish to see production in person! Not to worry for those of you who book after this time you won’t miss out! You can still view the production hall and we will provide a video recording of production from the farm to your plate.
Yes, our tour is suitable for all ages! Children are always welcome here at Clonakilty Blackpudding. This is also a buggy friendly facility.

You can expect the tour to last between 30 to 45 minutes, and also leave some time to taste our products at the end in our café.
